P7 outline electronic and non-electronic methods for communicating business information, using examples for different types of audience.


Context for P7

You are working as a Communication Officer's assistant for Oxted School. The company needs an information sheet for staff to help them decide the best way of communicating business information. You have been asked to produce this information sheet, which must outline electronic and non-electronic methods for communicating business information, linked to different types of audience and their requirements. 

P7 In this task you will need to EXAMINE both electronic and non-electronic methods of communicating available to a business such as OXTED school.  The suggested assignment in the brief below should keep you on track!



Task 1 (This provides evidence for P7)

Prepare a table using Word which should cover at least two sides of A4. In the table, outline different types of written and electronic methods of communicating business information for different types of audience. This should be related to your chosen organisation or any others that you are familiar with.

Typical methods of written communication include: letter, memorandum, fax, invoices, flow charts, publicity materials, emails and screen based displays, SMS and www pages

Typical methods of non written communication include: telephone calls, video conferencing, use of IT and touch screens, holograms, digital broadcasts, DVD's, mobile phones, the internet , applications etc

Remember audiences are different and audiences have different requirements: eg age, gender, ethnicity, special needs, readability, legibility, attention span, accessibility, interest, distraction avoidance, business experience and knowledge, industry-related experience and knowledge.
